The 35th Ibercaja Quebrantahuesos by TotalEnergies has once again reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the natural environment through the clean-up of the route, carried out with the support of Club Ciclista Edelweiss and volunteers who helped restore the roads to their usual condition following the event.
Once the cyclosportive had concluded, the organisation activated its planned clean-up operation to ensure that the roads and areas used during the event were returned to their normal state as quickly as possible. Teams of volunteers and event staff travelled across different sections of the route collecting waste and inspecting the areas with the highest concentration of participants in order to guarantee maximum respect for the environment.
This work, often unnoticed by the general public, is essential to preserving the harmonious relationship between the event, local residents and the natural surroundings that welcome thousands of cyclists each year. For many years, the Quebrantahuesos has maintained an environmental responsibility policy based on participant awareness and the implementation of specific measures aimed at minimising the event’s impact.
The organisation would like to express its special thanks to Club Ciclista Edelweiss, the heart and origin of the Quebrantahuesos, whose collaboration once again proved essential across all areas of the event. Thanks to the combined efforts of the organisation, volunteers and institutions, the roads that hosted another edition of the Ibercaja Quebrantahuesos by TotalEnergies have been fully restored, demonstrating that a passion for cycling can always go hand in hand with caring for the environment.
